# Starts

The Start section defines all the possible starting points of your novel. This is useful for branching the story from the beggining.

If you want players to be able to select their starting point, make sure to tick the Use carrousel for start selection checkbox.

# Creating Start Points

To create a new start point, follow these steps:

  1. Click Add Start in the Starts panel
  2. Select the scene where your story path begins

You now only need to configure the start point.

  • Scene: Which scene players start in for this path.
  • Title: Title for this starting option.
  • Description: Optional - Brief explanation of what this start offers.

# Characters' First Message

Each character present in the starting scene requires an initial dialogue they speak when the story begins. Make sure to write their opening dialogue in the text area, and to select their emotion.

Make sure to monitor your token usage, displayed next to the emotion selector.

# Global Start Cutscene

Global Cutscenes are scripted sequences that play when the novel begins, before any start point is selected. To learn more about cutscenes, read Cutscenes
